  • Five Floyd County Students Named $10,000 REACH Georgia Scholarship Recipients

    Five Floyd County Schools (FCS) eighth-graders and their parents or guardians signed their REACH (Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen) Georgia Scholarships before representatives of a local postsecondary institution, counselors, and school and FCS administrators to become members of the REACH Scholars Class of 2024.

  • Floyd County Schools Strengthens School Safety with Visitor Management System

    Floyd County Schools (FCS) will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System to improve campus safety for students and faculty starting Monday, October 14, 2019. This is a hi-tech replacement to what used to be an old-school visitor sign-in sheet. The new ID card scanning system provides practically instant screening of visitors, contractors, and volunteers for sex offender status and custom alerts such as custody orders.

  • Floyd County continues trend of SAT Success

    SAT scores for students in Floyd County Schools (FCS) were well above the state and national average on the SAT in a report released this week by the Georgia Department of Education. As a system, FCS posted a total score of 1064 and is once again above the state average of 1048 and the national average of 1039.
